The show will go on at Myrtleford with The Nationals

A masterplan for the redevelopment of the Myrtleford Showgrounds will be funded if The Nationals are elected to government, Member for Ovens Valley Tim McCurdy has announced.
Mr McCurdy was in Myrtleford today to commit $25,000 to kickstart development of a plan to transform the popular community facility.
“The Myrtleford Showgrounds are a community hub, home to many locally-driven events that draw our community together and bring visitors to our town,” Mr McCurdy said.
“This includes the annual Show ‘n’ Shine and Swap Meet, the Myrtleford Festival, the Agricultural and Pastoral Show and the Myrtleford Rodeo.
“A masterplan for the Myrtleford Showgrounds will provide direction for the renewal and preservation of the showgrounds and their current facilities to transform it into a vibrant meeting place for our community.”
Mr McCurdy said The Nationals in government would provide a $25,000 grant to the Alpine Shire Council for the Showgrounds project.
“The funding would enable planning for the future of this important community asset,” he said.
“This is a local project benefiting Myrtleford, especially for hosting community events.”
Mr McCurdy said that after four years in government, Labor had ignored the need for this funding.
“The Nationals believe in backing projects that local communities have identified as priorities, which is why we’ll invest in better community facilities in Myrtleford,” he said.
“It’s yet another reason Regional Victoria is a great place to live, to work and to play.”
