McCurdy pleased with $250 power saving bonus extension
Friday, 4th February 2022
Nationals Member for Ovens Valley Tim McCurdy is pleased to hear the Victorian Government has finally decided to extend the $250 power savings bonus until 30 June 2022.
Mr McCurdy said, “Previously the Victorian Government provided little to no information to eligible concession card holders about the one-off rebate payment and only allowed until the end of January to apply.
“Now eligible residents have more awareness and time to submit their applications by 30 June 2022.”
He continued, “I am very excited for our local residents to see the Victorian Government has finally listened to the importance of making those who are eligible aware and able to receive their entitled power saving bonus.”
Eligible concession card holders who haven’t already made a claim must be a Victorian residential energy customer and receive one of the following concession benefits:
- Centrelink Pension Concession Card;
- Jobseeker, Youth Allowance, Abstudy, Austudy;
- Department of Veterans Affairs Pensioners Concession Card; or
- Department of Veterans Affairs Gold Card.
“I encourage all eligible concession card holders who have not already made a claim to apply before 30 June 2022 at https://compare.energy.vic.gov.au/ or call my office if you need assistance on ph. 5721 6155,” Mr McCurdy said.
