McCurdy congratulates Wangaratta District Specialist School

Friday 20 April 2018

The Nationals Member for Ovens Valley Tim McCurdy MP has congratulated two local schools for their strong advocacy in securing $2.2 million to upgrade and modernise their facilities.

“Appin Park Primary School and the Wangaratta District Specialist School are co-located and it makes perfect sense to modernise both facilities,” said Mr McCurdy.

Mr McCurdy said he was delighted to see the Wangaratta District Specialist School finally getting the support of the government.

Mr McCurdy committed to securing land for the school’s redevelopment in 2014 and has been a strong advocate for funding to improve local school facilities across the Ovens Valley electorate.

Mr McCurdy has raised the need for a new Wangaratta District Specialist School during this term on many occasions in Parliament.

“I have had ongoing communications with Principal Chris Harvison, the previous Principal and the School Council and will continue to follow this up because this is only the beginning.”

Mr McCurdy said that he will continue to fight for the Ovens Valley electorate.

“Together we will achieve terrific outcomes.”
