Tertiary scholarships for regional and remote students now open– apply now!

Nationals Member for Ovens Valley Tim McCurdy is pleased to announce the Rural and Regional Enterprise Scholarships (RRES) program is now open and offering scholarships to more than 1000 eligible students from regional and remote Australia*.

Mr McCurdy said, “Since 2018 the Nationals and Liberals have funded the RRES program which has assisted more than 4000 regional and remote students attend university studies.”

The RRES program offers students scholarships of up to $18,000 towards their tertiary education from Certificate IV through to PhD level and are available until fully allocated*.

He continued, “all students, regardless of whether they are from regional or remote communities, should be given the opportunity to follow their desired career paths without the added financial stress.”

Round 6 applications for the RRES program are now open and available for 2022 until fully allocated and to be eligible for RRES scholarships, students must:

  • Meet Australia citizenship or residency requirements;
  • Are commencing a new course of study in the same year as the relevant scholarship round;
  • Can provide evidence of financial need; and
  • Have a permanent home address in a regional or remote area*.

Mr McCurdy added, “I strongly encourage all eligible students to apply.”
