Tim McCurdy Christmas message

As we prepare to celebrate Christmas and the New Year I would like to wish Ovens Valley residents a merry Christmas and a happy and safe 2018.

The festive season is an opportunity to spend time with family and friends, reflect on the year that has passed and to look forward to what a new year may bring. The holidays are a wonderful time to relax, spend quality time together and take a break from the regular routine.

Please take the time to look out for others, to extend the hand of friendship and offer the spirit of Christmas to those around you.

I hope everyone enjoys this time of year, but also remains vigilant and safe on the roads and on our waterways.

This region is full of those who are proud and passionate about where they live and the issues that are important to them. It has been an honour to represent you in 2017.

I look forward to continuing to work with the many organisations, groups and individuals in the Ovens Valley electorate next year.

As Christmas brings with it a variety of shopping needs I also encourage everyone to shop locally to support our local traders and economy.

I hope the year ahead is bright and prosperous for everyone. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
