Wangaratta Relay for Life - Letter to the Editor

Congratulations to everyone who participated in the Wangaratta Relay for Life on the weekend.

Bad weather did nothing to dampen the spirits and determination of the participating teams who walked laps of the WJ Findlay Oval in memory and support of those impacted by cancer.

The event raises funds for cancer patients, pays tribute to those who have lost their battle with the disease and offers support to survivors and carers.

Some 200 people raised more than $50,000 from the Wangaratta event, a fantastic achievement by all involved.

The new committee of The Wangaratta Relay for Life did a wonderful job in its first year and I thank them for their efforts in making this event possible.

Well done to everyone who participated and donated – your contribution and support will make an important difference to local people.
