McCurdy pays tribute to dedicated Yarrawonga National Party volunteer

The Nationals' Member for Ovens Valley, Tim McCurdy, has paid tribute to dedicated National Party volunteer Malcolm Browning, recognising more than six decades of service to the party and the Yarrawonga community.

Joined by family, friends and fellow party members, we gathered together this past weekend to celebrate Malcolm's extraordinary contribution, which began when he joined The Nationals in 1961 at just 21 years of age.

Mr McCurdy said Malcolm's commitment to the party and his community had been nothing short of remarkable.

"Malcolm has worked tirelessly at every election for more than 60 years and remains one of the most dedicated volunteers our party has ever had," Mr McCurdy said.

"From organising pre-poll rosters and coordinating polling booths across Yarrawonga, to supporting campaigns on both sides of the Murray, Malcolm has always been willing to roll up his sleeves and get the job done."

Mr McCurdy said Malcolm's contribution extends far beyond politics.

"What makes this recognition even more special is that Malcolm continues to play an active role in so many local organisations, including Scouts, his church, and the Yarrawonga Football Netball Club."

"Alongside his wife Wendy, who has supported him every step of the way, Malcolm has devoted countless hours to strengthening both our party and our community."

Mr McCurdy said Malcolm's dedication, reliability and community spirit had earned him the respect and admiration of generations of Nationals members and local residents alike.

"Volunteers like Malcolm are the backbone of regional communities. His commitment over more than six decades is an outstanding achievement and this recognition is richly deserved."
