National Member for Ovens Valley, Tim McCurdy, has thrown down the gauntlet to Premier Jacinta Allan by inviting her to visit Cobram and see firsthand the need for support in the upcoming budget.
Mr McCurdy said that Labor would only accept the need for funding if the Ministers in Melbourne came up and saw it with their own eyes.
“The Cobram Football Netball Club is a great club which provides so much for the community from the youngsters just starting out in their sporting journey, to the stalwarts who have been around for decades.
“Unfortunately, the clubrooms are in desperate need of an overhaul, and we need the Victorian Government to stump up the cash and support our community.
“I invited the Premier to come visit Cobram with me when I was in Parliament, and I am optimistic that the Premier will want to show her country roots by accepting.
“Local advocacy is so important for sports clubs like Cobram FNC, so I will continue to push for much needed funding in the upcoming State Budget.”
