The Nationals’ Member for Ovens Valley, Tim McCurdy, is encouraging local multicultural organisations to apply for funding through the Multicultural Festivals and Events Grant Program.

The program offers grants of up to $50,000 to support community groups in delivering cultural festivals and events, with applications closing on 23 October 2025.

Mr McCurdy said this funding provides an important opportunity for multicultural groups across the Ovens Valley.

“Our multicultural organisations play a vital role in strengthening our local communities,” he said.

“From food festivals to cultural celebrations, these events showcase the richness of our diversity and help bring people together.

“Many groups face challenges in covering the costs of running their events, and this funding can provide a real boost to keep traditions alive and ensure these special occasions continue to thrive.

“I strongly encourage multicultural organisations across the Ovens Valley to consider applying so they can continue sharing their culture, history and traditions with the broader community.”
