Community organisations across the Ovens Valley are being encouraged to apply for the latest round of the 2025–26 Community Food Relief Program.
The Nationals’ Member for Ovens Valley, Tim McCurdy, said the funding aims to strengthen local efforts to assist residents facing food insecurity amid ongoing cost-of-living pressures.
“Many families are doing it tough right now, and we’re lucky to have dedicated community groups stepping up to help,” Mr McCurdy said.
“This funding is about giving those groups the resources they need to continue their vital work, whether that’s through food parcels, community meals, or emergency relief.”
The program is open to:
Neighbourhood Houses
Volunteer-led and community-based organisations
Social enterprises involved in food relief
“These grants are designed to support the grassroots organisations already on the ground, delivering real help to people who need it most,” Mr McCurdy said.
“If your group is eligible, I strongly encourage you to put your hand up and apply.”
Applications for the Community Food Relief Program, local grants are open now and close on Tuesday, 19 August 2025.
