The Nationals' Member for Ovens Valley, Tim McCurdy has recognised two of the Ovens Valley’s premier community events in State Parliament last week, highlighting their importance in supporting local tourism, businesses and community spirit across the region.
Mr McCurdy said it brought him great joy to acknowledge the outstanding efforts of the Bright Rotary Club and Fenella O’Sullivan following another successful Bright Autumn Festival.
“The Bright Autumn Festival continues to be a fantastic showcase of our region, attracting visitors from far and wide and delivering enormous benefits to local businesses and the wider community,” Mr McCurdy said.
“These events do not happen without the dedication of volunteers and organisers who work tirelessly behind the scenes, and they deserve enormous credit.”
Mr McCurdy also praised the success of this year’s La Fiera festival in Myrtleford, describing it as one of the region’s must-see events.
“La Fiera once again showcased the very best of Myrtleford’s proud Italian heritage, with a wonderful atmosphere filled with singing, dancing, incredible food, red wine and community spirit,” he said.
“It is truly one of the great regional festivals in Victoria and something everyone should add to their bucket list at least once.”
Mr McCurdy said events like La Fiera continue to highlight the strength, culture and hospitality that make the Ovens Valley such a special place to live and visit.
