McCurdy honours Yarrawonga stalwart Malcolm Browning

The Nationals’ Member for Ovens Valley Tim McCurdy has congratulated Yarrawonga community champion Malcolm Browning on receiving Life Membership of the National Party, describing the honour as richly deserved.

Mr McCurdy said he was so proud of Malcolm’s contribution to the region that he took the opportunity to acknowledge him in Parliament last week, ensuring his decades of service were recognised on the official record.

"Malcolm and his wife Wendy are salt of the earth. They are people who always put their community first and have dedicated countless hours to making Yarrawonga and the wider region a better place," Mr McCurdy said.

Presented at the recent National Party State Conference in Ballarat, the Life Membership recognises Malcolm’s unwavering commitment to the Party and to the people he has served for many years.

Mr McCurdy said Malcolm has been a steadfast supporter of The National Party representatives across north-east Victoria and is always willing to lend a hand whenever his community needs him.

"Whether it's through the church, Scouts, Yarrawonga Football and Netball Club, the CFA or the National Party, Malcolm has always stepped forward to serve others," he said.

"This is not Malcolm’s first life membership in our community, and I doubt it will be his last. His selfless dedication and leadership have left a lasting impact on countless people."

Mr McCurdy also acknowledged Wendy Browning’s ongoing support and contribution, congratulating the pair on an outstanding achievement and thanking them for their lifelong service to the Ovens Valley community.
