LETTER TO THE EDITOR

I’d like to sincerely thank and congratulate Leonard James McDonald, affectionately known as Geordie, on his retirement after more than 30 years delivering mail across the Cobram-Barooga region.

Geordie has been a familiar and much-loved face in our community, clocking up nearly 1.9 million kilometres and more than 2.4 million deliveries over three decades. His beaming smile and unwavering commitment have made him a local legend.

 From early starts on the family farm to long days behind the wheel, Geordie’s work ethic and cheerful nature have left a lasting impact on everyone along his route. He didn’t just deliver the mail, he delivered connection, reliability and kindness.

 Geordie, thank you for your outstanding service. Enjoy the well-earned rest, the sleep-ins, and the sunny escape up north. You’ve earned every bit of it.
